About
You really have to wonder how many of these online profiles and about me pages one can create. I guess since this is my blog I should take the time to create yet another bit of rambling text about myself.
Have no worries though I will try to keep this brief:
My life began on April 29th 1978, and I have been steadily increasing in age since. I live in Victoria, BC, Canada on Vancouver Island which I refer to as ‘The Prison.’ The last ferry leaves at 9:00, and after that your stuck. I have a lovely wife, named Carmelle, she is my Princess.
Growing up I never had an answer to the question “What do you want to be when you grow up.” I had an answer it just changed on a daily basis until my introduction to the world wide web. I consider myself an artist, but not the patchouli type of hippy artists; Because of my diverse interests and talents I could never decide what I wanted to do with my life. When the career of web designer became a reality I knew that this was my path. I could use all of my talents in one place. I now call myself a web designer.
I was a musician for a while. I created a 30 piece swing orchestra with a friend in the late 90’s when swing was extremely popular. We eventually paired the band down to 10 people, named ourselves “Snack Thorton and the Blue Light Specials” and played a ton of local shows here in Victoria. We never cut an album or did any recording as we were just playing for fun. Eventually the band broke up, but I still consider trying to get everyone together for a reunion. Maybe one day…
Around the time I found the Web design I also found Internet Marketing. For about a year I was making around $1500-$2000 per month selling eBooks, and affiliate products. I did most of this through eBay. One day eBay changed their policies and I was no longer allowed to do sell eBooks on eBay. So far I haven’t been able to recreate my success, but I keep trying.
So now in my life I turn towards focusing on my web design, marketing, and SEO skills, spending a obscene amount of time with my wife, watching 80’s cartoon reruns and dreaming about eating Mr T cereal.
